About The Festival

The jazz Festival reached 17 and its teen spirit blows in the Cinematheque's corridors. In a hectic urban atmosphere, sizzling and craving for novelties, this year too, top of the line jazz artists and musicians will gather alongside local talents just discovering improvisation music. The 2006 festival promises intriguing encounters with guests like Phil Woods, one of the world's Alt Saxophone giants, with leading Israeli musicians, and premier performances of key artists in the Jazz scene like Kalaparush Maurice McIntyre or Franz Koglmann.

The Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival, produced by the Artistic Events Department of the Tel-Aviv-Yafo Municipality, is a celebration of inspiration and virtuosity. Since the beginning of its existence, the Festival unveiled and promoted many artists, initiated a variety of original productions and prompted the development of new projects and ensembles. The Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival had gained a prestigious reputation as being an attraction focus to Jazz fundamentals, as well as for being a home to unique projects, local and international alike, but above all the festival is four days of an exciting musical adventure to all the Jazz fans.

As in every year and in the best of tradition, Jazz events will be available at the Cinematheque, and the public will also be able to enjoy free admission events at the Cinematheque's lobby. Tickets will range between NIS 69-159, and holders of Tel-Aviv Resident's Card, Maximum Tel-Aviv Card, students, soldiers and senior citizens will enjoy extra discounts.
